Forecast: Steamy Sunshine; Scattered Storms for Sunday

On Sunday, we will have a slightly better chance of showers and storms as a trough brings higher moisture to the region, especially along the Nature Coast.  By the afternoon, most of the activity will shift inland to areas east of I-75.  We will see 40% coverage of showers and storms for Tampa Bay and points southward, with a 50% chance of showers and storms for the Nature Coast. High temperatures will peak in the low 90's.

On Monday, our westerly flow will shift to the southeast increasing rain chances along the coast during the late afternoon and evening.

Tropical Storm Dorian has weakened to a tropical wave and will have no impact on our weather.

Monday Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 97. Calm wind becoming west southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tuesday Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. East southeast wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Southeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
