Reports: Fast food restaurants dishing up unhealthy kids' marketing

New Haven, Connecticut -- Parents beware!  A new study finds that many fast food kids' meals are anything but healthy.

And researchers from Yale University say fast food restaurants are aggressively marketing those unhealthy meals directly to children.

According to the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity at Yale, the average preschooler sees 21% more fast food ads than children in 2003. 

And at those restaurants, researchers say only 12 of the 3000 possible kids' meal combinations met nutritional guidelines for preschoolers.

The worst offender, according to Yale researchers, was KFC's popcorn chicken kids meal.  It is served with a biscuit, soda and a side of string cheese.  The entire meal has 840 calories and more than 1600 mg sodium.

A better choide is Subway's Veggie Delite meal--a sandwich with apple slices and juice.  It had only 285 calories and 295 mg sodium.
