ORLANDO, Florida (AP) - Attorneys for the Florida man charged in the shooting of Trayvon Martin say his defense fund has raised $12,000 in one day.
George Zimmerman's defense team posted the figure on their website on Thursday, just a day after announcing the fund had less than $5,000 remaining.

The defense calculated that Zimmerman needs another $120,000 to put on an adequate defense. Despite the low funds, lead defense attorney Mark O'Mara says it's too late for Zimmerman to be declared indigent, which would allow taxpayers to help defray his expenses.
O'Mara started the website to help raise funds when he took over the case last year.
Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder. He is pleading not guilty, claiming self-defense.
