Lithia, Fl. - A Bay Area soldier is back at home, just in time for the Holidays. First Lieutenant Joshua Chapman returned Friday. He and his Army Reserve transportation company arrived at their base in Orlando, after being in Iraq for about six months. They were supposed to be deployed for about a year, but that changed with the end of the war in Iraq.

"It's great. I'm very excited. I was very happy to make it back in time," said Chapman.

Chapman was able to be there for his daughter's first Christmas, safe and sound. It's a relief for his wife, Brandi.

"It's wonderful. It's a huge load off. I didn't know how much physical energy goes into worrying about your loved one," said Brandi.

Chapman said he's glad he got the opportunity to serve his country. He added that even though there have not been any big celebrations marking the end of the Iraq War, he's okay with that, especially since there are still soldiers fighting in Afghanistan.

First Lt. Chapman is now focused on his family, staying busy with the Holidays. The Chapmans said they wouldn't have it any other way, as long as they're together.

Chapman says he will most likely stay right here in the Bay Area for a while.
